Utica State Hospital
Every time I drove home, or drove back on I-90 to Connecticut, I always passed through Utica my mind goes to the old beautiful Kirkbride located there. Finally going back to where I live I decided what the hell and stopped in Utica to see this grand old relic of a bygone era. When I got there I found the place fenced off and a sign saying that renovations are going on within the structure. The first impression I got was how wonderful the place looked! As I roamed around the campus I came to realize that the two largest buildings on the campus were deserted, yet with them closed up, the campus was still alive with various small side buildings still being used for one purpose or another. I am sure glad to stop there and wonder when I'll go back.
