Battleship Cove
I had been planning on stopping by Battleship Cove in Fall Rivers Massachusetts for a long time. The week prior, I had been planning on exploring with someone else, yet his plans fell threw so I decided upon coming here instead. The place is just powerful. It's one thing to see these massive ships and their guns within books, yet it is a completely different thing to see them in real life. Walking up to the guns showed me just how big they are. These battleships were powerful enough to shoot a shell the weight of a VW bug (16 inches in diameter!) well over eight miles inland. I once saw a shot of the USS Iowa firing a full broadside causing the ship to slide back in the water a couple feet from the recoil of the ship's guns firing! The battleship is the USS Massachusetts (BB 59), the destroyer is the USS Joseph P Kennedy Jr (DD 850), the WWII sub is the USS Sea lion (SS 298), and the Russian Missile Corvette Haddensee.
