Albany
A while ago I went over to Albany on Sunday after a friend had suggested that I go to the New York State Museum to see an exhibit on the Willard State Hospital where they had found over fifty suitcases filled with the patients belongings that were left over. Apparently when a patient checked in, the staff took some of their belonging and the suitcase they brought with them and put the suitcases up in the attic. When the patent was about to leave the staff would their suitcase for them. Well it seems that all of the patients that these suitcases belonged to had died and the staff forgot about them and probably stop putting stuff up there. From what I read a year or two ago some New York State inspectors was going through the building to see the state of the building when they came across the suitcases. Later on they came back, took the suitcases down, and then made an exhibit showing the lives of these patients before they came to the hospital and what their lives were like in the hospital. They also included historic pictures, furniture, and various other stuff from the hospital to give a view of life in the hospital. After I had seen the exhibit, I started to wander around the state mall amazed at the fifties architecture of the place. It looks like a picture from the book "The Time Machine"
